About Us
Play & Learn is a fervent supporter of child-centred learning at pre-school age and early childhood. Our principal belief is that children learn while playing with their peers in an environment with developmentally-appropriate practices. Play is organised and free and makes use of experiential learning principles. We believe that children enhance their proactive nature when they are in an environment that respects their needs and has confidence in their abilities.
Our organisation consists of two educational centres:
- The Play & Learn Preschool – A model Preschool Education Centre for children aged from 2.5 to the age of compulsory attendance at school, which is situated on 27 Lefkosias street, next to the Jumbo store. The Play & Learn Preschool philosophy is based on Playing (play-based) and influenced by the Reggio Emilia principles. It is open during morning and afternoon hours.
- Play & Learn – Learn English by Playing – a Foreign Language Centre, situated on 41 Sixty-Two Martyron Avenue, featuring an innovative English Language teaching program.
At Play & Learn we not only attach great significance to linguistic development but also to socio-emotional and cognitive development. That is precisely why we are able to offer:
- Small groups of children with a specially-trained educator (teacher) in the Play & Learn curriculum
- Special cooperation with the parent so as to enhance the child’s self-confidence, develop their self-realisation and incorporate them into the “family” of Play & Learn.
- Guidance counseling to the parents for the smooth adjustment of their child into our curriculum and their first inclusion in a class
- Contact with diverse cultures and customs from different nations.
We respect the needs of every family and embrace the fact that each child is different as they come from diverse cultural and social backgrounds.
